My two children were fortunate to have Dr. Stanley as their first clarinet teacher during his tenure at the Music Conservatory of Westchester, beginning when they were 9 years old. Dr. Stanley is wonderful with young children. He motivated them to practice, and made detailed lesson notes that allowed me to maximize their development between lessons. He got them involved in the Canadian Royal Conservatory’s rigorous assessment program, which led to an invitation to perform in a recital at Carnegie Hall (!), and also prepared them for many smaller recitals and several successful auditions for all-county band.
